The Pursuit of Happiness
We live in a world of consumerism, one which emphasizes on the wants rather than needs of one. It is so fast paced, so realistic, so materialistic. It has evolved to this stage whereby everyone is hopping onto the bandwidth of that hedonic treadmill whereby their pursuits are endless.
We want Gucci. We want iphone. We want happiness. We want love.
The list is endless isn't it?
These wants distort the many simple values we used to live for. Think, a birthday. Friends would visit one's wishlist to try to take stock and strike off items on the birthday boy wishlist. Why do you even bother for a wishlist in the first place, birthdayboy?
Because we all, want.
So what about that hedonic treadmill we tread on? - The pursuit is endless.
We have iphone, we want iphone3G. We have happiness, we yearn for love.
Only the bests survive today. Are you one of them?
Define happiness - the quality or state of being happy.
i had a difficult time defining what happiness meant to me.
But now, for me, happiness is to be happy. okay, rubbish i know.
I am sure i'll find my happiness someday somewhere.
Oh well, my friends and i were en route NUS today when we caught Spellcast on the TV. Goodness, i really really cannot spell. Very proven.
And oh well well, i hate being ignored. Tell me that
